Jamie Sue Said What?

I’ve added some pictures in a Summer Fun gallery.  We’ve gone to a wedding in Iowa, swam in a friends pool a few times, gone to a baptism of our new godchild (Keeley) and spent plenty of time in the backyard playing with the neighbors.

And think, it’s not even July yet

This week we’re going to the UP to see some family and check out the beauty.

Here is a pic of her first day and her last day.  It is so crazy that her first year of school is over!

Last week Kennedy finished up Kindergarten.  Can you believe she is in first grade now!?  It’s just crazy how big she is and how much she has grown up this year.  She had a perfect report card, which is a big improvement over her semester that may have referenced a few behavior issues

Zoey is 2 and is the funniest kid.  She has learned that blaming her sister for things is effective, but needs to be a bit more strategic about it.  Last week I was getting her into the bath and asked her if she peed in her pants – she replied “No, DeeDee (aka Kennedy) did it.”  I told her I’m on to her.

We went on a road trip over the weekend to a wedding in Iowa.  The girls were so good and the car-ride went really well.  I’m so excited to know we can take trips and not have it be stressful, and just have fun family time.

I’ve updated the look of the site, updated the technology and have now fixed the issue I was having with uploading new images.  Having said all that, I’m fairly confident I’ll be better about posting things now.  I do have a small issue because I’ve been using Facebook more than this – but I’ll make sure to put more pics on here too

I’m a terrible blogger.  It’s been a really long time.  So what is new:

• Kennedy is in soccer and going well with it
• Zoey is well into her terrible twos but too cute for me to do much about it – she is a goofy little girl
• Todd and I are involved in a new venture to open an Irish Pub in Oshkosh… stay tuned
• I am just working away at UWO
• I have two new nephews, born the same day at the same hospital but don’t be confused, they are not twins.  Separate sides of the family.  Welcome Lucas and Kolton!
• Kennedy is almost done with Kindergarten and doing so well!  Can you believe I’ll have a first-grader soon?!
• I’ve taken up a new hobby, photography and I’m loving it

I could go on and on but that is some highlights.  I’ll try to do better with this.

So the big news of the week is that Zoey told me she had to go potty, we went to the bathroom and she sat down.  None of this is new – she does this all the time, she thinks its funny to be on the potty.  The big news is she actually went this time.

HOORAY!!!!

My little Zoey is sick… she has pnemonia.  I plan to hug her a lot, I feel that is the best cure.  She also has a bed on couch and is watching Hannah Montana.  She will bounce right back.

1.  Zoey is turning 2 next month, but there is no doubt that she is already entered her terrible twos.  She has become the most stubborn little person I know.  Twice this weekend she ended up in her room for hitting and her only way out was to say she was sorry.  She REFUSED.  She hugged, kissed, acted cute and said cute things but WOULD NOT say she was sorry.  It was pretty funny.  She will realize soon that she won’t win these fights.

2.  I entered a sweepstakes for a dream home in Sonoma, CA.  It seems very likely that we’ll all be moving soon.

3.  Kennedy spent a day and a half home from school sick this week.  She has already mastered the fine art of milking it when you’re sick.  I couldn’t be more proud

Last week Kennedy had to make a call to her dad after music class.  Her teacher and her music teacher were also present.  After school I got a call from her and Todd with the explanation.  Apparently, there was an argument over Kennedy’s place in line – Spencer felt she should be last and she knew she was supposed to be second.  In her anger at Spencer she threw her maracas.  That crossed a line and she had to call a parent.

When she told me this story on the phone it was pretty hard not to laugh – she was so funny telling me.  When I told her throwing anything at school is unacceptable her response was:  “but I drew you a picture” – it took all I had not to laugh at that one

Ms. Merrifield explained to Todd that those instruments need to last for years which is why they are so strict.  I’m glad they made such a big deal – she needs to have more respect at school.  She has really good ever since, so it had a good impact.
